5-Star Students is used at the middle school to manage electronic hall passes. Classrooms use a dedicated Chromebook to allow students to request hall passes.
The Chromebook is logged in using the teacher's Google credentials. Students then access 5-Star through Clever, where they log in using their own user credentials. Once in 5-Start the student can select the Hall Pass feature.
BUSD IT is responsible for providing the Chromebook and ensuring it is assigned to the appropriate site's Hall Pass Organizational Unit (OU) in Google Admin.
The school principal is responsible for providing the teacher with the code needed to access Hall Pass for their classroom.
No special 5-Star application installation is required on the Chromebook.
